To The Bones

We all know that Bangus is an all-time favorite, be it for an everyday meal to the most festive celebrations, milkfish don’t disappoint. But as yours truly says, “What is delicious is difficult to acquire…”  Before you can even have a bite, you’ll have to go through a bloody obstacle—that is the infamous Bangus fishbones. Thin and long bones that group together like thorns and hidden in the fish’s meat. One wrong swallow and your unsuspecting arse will be tormented by a sharp pinch in your throat.  Luckily, it doesn’t have to be like that. Nowadays you can buy Bangus that have been deboned . Market places—especially in the wet market— offer to debone the fish the moment you buy, other vendors are not as considerate, they only offer to  pluck out the fish bones as long as you buy additional product than you originally planned to.
